Practicing My Rusty Photoshop Skills

As the title say, my photoshop skills are rusty. I'm studying Digital Imaging (because Graphic Design wasn't available in my area) I should be ashamed. Also my drawing is rusty. What's wrong with me? (>.<) I used to be so artistic and now I'm not, but I still love it. 

I started playing with photoshop again, faster way to learn, because you can learn from YouTube following the steps of other designers but in reality you'll easily forget or copy their style of designing. Every designer must have their own unique styles if you want to be known worldwide become different, if people see the same thing, they won't have interest on you or you won't become the next big designer with the reason other designer already became big with that style. In other words designers must be unique and different. (I learned that from designers from tumblr and google)

Here's my first attempt of blending, merging layers and adding effects with Photoshop. I apologies  having the links of my block all over, the reason for it is because I've seen and known people that steals other designers work and while the stealers get paid with a lot of money and prices, the original creators get nothing. Saying this I must mention the images that I used where found on google. Yes! There's 3 images and are top of each other. I had always wonder how people does it and recently learned how. I thought it was by putting all next to each other and blend it. (What none designers always do) I did it by uniting the 3 pictures (merging layers) as one and I did it automatically. I must improve more that means more photoshop because Illustrator it's already my best friend. (^_^) Hope you'll like it.

First Dolly Attempt

On the second day of Puerto Rico Comic Con 2013, I tried the dolly look. In the real world in the island dressing like a doll is retarded (Said by a random radio station here). I decided to dress as I would love to dress every single day. 

• blonde wig from Ebay $12.99 . (My hair is naturally curly, dark and short). 

• Used a random school uniform bought from eBay $9.99 + $1.59 of shipping

• Pink Hello Kitty hairband in my wrist (had it since I was 3 years old)

• Stockings (not sure if it's from Walgreens or Forever 21)

• Black kitty heels from Ebay $13.99 + $3.00 from shipping

• Rings that you can find in cupcakes as decorations.

• The ribbon around my neck is from Amazon cost $7 

•  A collection of bows in my hair (wig).

I usually take about 1/2 to 1 hours to do my dolly makeup. Applying councilor takes the most time. I usually use BB Cream, Dark circles councilor, powder, more councilor under my eyes, more powder, and blend until it's all even. For the eyes I don't even use eyeshadow only eyeliner color white and black; including the mascara.

Puerto Rico Comic Con 2013, May 25

I enjoyed the event, met very nice and kind people, but there were outsiders that came to the event not knowing what's about and insulted me, but I kept me smile on and just walked away. There were a lot of cosplays my favorite it's hard to choose but I have two. Magna Angelmon and Skeleton Jack. Magna Angelmon took a whole year to make the cosplay with sweet and tears of blood. Skeleton Jack; my personal opinion it's hard to work in sticks from 10am to 7pm without taking them off.

I only went to see the world famous Harley's Joker and I took numerous pictures with him. He's sweet,  extremely kind, polite, extremely down to earth, goofy and very dandy as well. He's a nerd and freak just like the majority in the convention. The only difference between him and the rest of the convention geeks is his pure talent in cosplaying as the joker. I've waited since July 2012 to meet him face to face and it was a honor to have met him in person, he looks identical like the photos online. So for those who say it's photoshop trust me it's not. He takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours to complete his own makeup. I've talked about him a lot but my friends thought I was crazy or retarded but when they finally met him, I made them eat their own words. What a great feeling!

My First Time Cosplaying

I did a cosplay for the first time and it was horrible. I ordered a Atoli (.hack) costume from CosplayHolic and they did Shino (.hack). To be sincere I hate it. If you're going to order from them make sure it's from their page and never e-mail them. They took from February 19 until May 9 to make it. Don't know why because I redid the hat (because it was horrible) and took me 8 hours to complete it. (maybe a busy month) I bought  a Atoli wig (also haircut it) for nothing and ended up using my Hitsugaya (BLEACH) wig. The hat in the photo above was made by my own hands. Complaints? The wings kept falling off each 12 seconds so I had to pin it to the neck, gave them 2 inches of size smaller than my thigh and still where extremely baggy (ended up buying stockings), the pants I said lace in the bottom (no lace), but the arms blouse where perfect. Can you believe I spend $127 dollars on buying then I ended up spending $100 more to make some things myself? Yes, better believe it. I order because I wanted to review sites for people who doesn't know how to sew, also was extremely but extremely busy with University. What's my conclusion? If it's on the site you're saved, CosplayHolic gives good service and worries about your package and does the impossible to make it arrive, also the shipping is extremely fast in arrived in 3-4 days. So there's no need to worry about last hour sending.   The picture was taken by a random guy with his cellphone.
